I've always wanted to try a wash and go for a while now, but never really got around to doing it. For Old Years Night (New Years Eve) church service I wanted to wear my hair out, since I've been enjoying wearing my hair in twist outs for the past month I thought that it would be a great time to try a wash and go.
So on Sunday around midday I shampooed and conditioned my hair, then I applied a leave in conditioner and apply the gel section by section. After that I decided to mist my hair with a little oil. Everything seemed ok except for the white residue which I know was from the leave in. Anyway I decided to let my hair air dry for the rest of the day. As time went by I realized that my hair was not drying as fast as I wanted it to, so got the blow dryer. I tried to keep the heat as far as possible because I hate heat since I always gives me a headache. Anyway got tired and just decided to leave it. When I noticed that it was 7 o'clock I got a spray bottle filled it with some warm water, sprayed my hair section by section and squeezed that gunk from my hair because I knew I was not gonna sleep with wet sticky hair.
So the next morning(New Years Eve) I co-washed my hair and did plaitt and twists.
I would say that my first wash and go is a complete failure. But I intend on trying again.
I think you need to check to see if you picture came through because all I see is code. With a wash n go if you choose to use gel and oil you need to make sure those gels work well together or else you will get what a call white boogers. Oil in the winter depends on how cold it is. If you use coconut oil it will make white flakes if it is cold. Jojoba Oil works well in cold environments.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen I fixed it. Here in the caribbean it's slightly cold sometimes. The oil that I used was sunflower, jojoba is not available in my country.
